BACKGROUND
The McLendon Leadership Initiative (MLI) is a national fellowship program that provides access and opportunity while developing principled leaders prepared to make an impact in the sports industry.
Open to individuals with a bachelor's degree who aspire to build a career in sports, the program seeks those who embody the values of Coach John McLendon and offer unique perspectives shaped by a variety of personal, educational, and professional backgrounds.
MLI offers a year-long professional development experience through placements at leading athletic departments and sports organizations across the country.
SUMMARY
The Account Coordinator is an entry-level client service role supporting the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, experiential, social, and channels. This position will assist with client communication, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively and align with brand and audience engagement goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support day-to-day client communications, including meeting scheduling and preparation, note taking, and recap follow-up
  • Coordinate timelines, project deliverables, and internal communication across creative, production, and strategy teams
  • Assist with managing project trackers, timelines, and status reports
  • Help gather and organize campaign assets and client approvals
  • Conduct market and competitive research to inform creative briefs and presentations
  • Maintain clear documentation and version control for assets and feedback
  • Assist in the development of client presentations and recap decks
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for client meetings and events

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 0-2 years of experience in a marketing, advertising, or communications role (internships included)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities
  • Collaborative, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with project management tools a plus
