As a Field Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing and supporting operations in the field. What You'll Do
- Work alongside superintendents and foremen to plan, track, and execute field activities according to design and specifications.
- Perform and verify quantity takeoffs, cost reporting, and materials tracking.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure project schedules and budgets stay on track.
- Participate in work planning, project documentation, and progress meetings.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure construction meets or exceeds standards.
- Identify and help resolve field challenges quickly through teamwork and creative problem-solving.
- Support change order management, cost reporting, and close-out documentation.
- Promote and uphold Zachry's culture of safety - ensuring every person goes home safe every day.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
- 1+ years of experience in heavy highway, road, or bridge construction (internship or field experience a plus).
- Experience with projects $10M+ preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction software tools such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and commitment to teamwork.
