Join our teams of dedicated clinicians who value intervening at the intersection of medical and behavioral health for the best patient outcomes. Brown University Health (Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Newport Hospital - affiliated hospitals of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University) is seeking a clinical or counseling psychologist to join our Adult Psychiatry and Behavioral Health team.
This is a unique opportunity to work in both general adult outpatient and integrated behavioral health, serving a diverse range of populations and working closely with a renowned multidisciplinary team.
General outpatient psychologists in our Adult Outpatient program provide psychotherapy services to patients from a wide range of backgrounds. We work closely with our psychiatrists and care coordinators who assist us in connecting our patients with essential community resources. Psychologists in Integrated Behavioral Health work in medical clinics at Brown University Health, delivering short-term therapy in collaboration with medical providers. Typical presenting concerns in these settings include anxiety, depression, substance use, insomnia, chronic pain, and disease management.
About You:
 
  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program required
  • Clinical internship from an APA-accredited program required
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island (includes completion of postdoctoral fellowship)
  • Desire to work in a team-based care model and collaborate with other providers
  • Flexible, able to handle real-time referrals and warm handoffs (for integrated care roles)
  • Drawn to a diverse patient population and range of clinical presentations
  • Interest in academic teaching and working in an academic medical center
  • Good sense of humor and desire to be part of a supportive environment

Job Details:
 
  • Outpatient and IBH settings, working with patients age 18+
  • M-F schedule, 40 hours per week (30 hours clinical, 10 hours administrative)
  • Conduct intake evaluations, brief individual psychotherapy (integrated care settings), and longer-term therapy (general outpatient)
  • Treat a broad range of mental and behavioral health conditions
