Role Overview

The Investment Sourcing Analyst – Venture Capital is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and advancing early-stage investment opportunities into the firm’s pipeline. This role sits at the front end of the investment process and works closely with partners, principals, and associates to ensure a steady flow of high-quality startup opportunities aligned with the firm’s investment theses.

The position emphasizes proactive outreach, ecosystem engagement, and early-stage screening rather than full execution or portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

Source early-stage investment opportunities through outbound outreach, ecosystem research, and inbound screening

Identify and engage founders at the pre-seed and seed stages through email, events, referrals, and platform sourcing

Conduct initial founder calls to assess team, product vision, market opportunity, and traction

Build and maintain a structured sourcing pipeline and CRM

Monitor accelerators, demo days, startup databases, and venture networks for emerging companies

Support market mapping and thematic sourcing aligned with firm investment priorities

Prepare concise sourcing memos and opportunity summaries for internal review

Coordinate handoff of qualified deals to senior investment team members for diligence

Ideal Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, or a related analytical discipline

Strong interest in venture capital, startups, and early-stage investing

Experience in venture internships, startup roles, consulting, sales, business development, or finance is helpful

Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with founders and operators

Highly organized, proactive, and relationship-oriented

Curious, analytical, and motivated to develop deep familiarity with startup ecosystems
