Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer at ITAC, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of electrical & control systems for a variety of projects in industries such as power generation, pulp & paper, utilities, chemicals, food & beverage, and more. With our multidisciplinary approach, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines and different regions of the US to develop innovative design-build solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • Responsible for performing the layout, analysis, and design of the electrical & controls engineering scope of work for heavy industrial projects
  • Able develop electrical & controls documentation:
    • Design Calculations
    • Power distribution
    • Panel schedules
    • Conduit & cable schedules
    • Classification maps
    • Loop diagrams
    • I/O drawings
    • Motor elementaries
  • Ability to work with and understand core design basis documentation (i.e., P&IDs, General Arrangements, Equipment List, etc.)
  • Proficient in developing specifications and design for Motor control Centers (MCCs), Switchgear, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Ability to lead a small staff of junior engineers and designers.
  • Perform quality checking procedures for Electrical Engineering work performed by others.
  • The ability to resolve technical design conflicts.
  • Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments. This includes proficiency in utilizing various computer software packages.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or ETAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
