Job description

Position Overview: Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a dedicated Family Medicine Physician (FMD) to join our Dumfries Ambulatory Care Center.Essential Functions: - Deliver preventative, acute, and chronic care for patients assigned to your panel, and support other providers’ patients during high-volume periods or absences. - Conduct general medical examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions across all organ systems. - Promote preventive health and maintenance care, including physicals, immunizations, and patient education on positive health behaviors. - Document all outpatient and inpatient encounters accurately in the EMR system in accordance with Army regulations and FHC policies. - Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, arthritis, and cancer. - Prescribe medications per protocols, educate patients on proper use and side effects, and maintain accurate records. - Order, evaluate, and interpret radiology and laboratory tests; refer to specialty clinics as appropriate. - Provide prescription renewals and telephonic consultative services. - Mentor and provide guidance to other healthcare providers, including nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. - Participate in professional development, staff meetings, in-service training, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school; foreign medical graduates must have ECFMG certification. - Completion of accredited post-graduate medical training (internship and residency) in Internal Medicine. - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine. - Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. - Current unrestricted DEA certificate. - Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years as a Family Practice Provider. - Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications. - Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. - Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in word processing, data entry, and electronic medical records.
