Job description

As a Trex Continuous Improvement Manager, you’ll be driving performance to the next level by identifying and implementing improvement activities and building and growing a team of CI professionals to improve overall company performance.

As a member of our Operational Excellence team, you’ll be helping us operate more efficiently by executing projects that will create more efficient processes and result in cost savings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, and lead Kaizen events and process improvement activities. Modified wording and removed redundant bullet below.
  • Help build a team of individuals with diverse experience to create the Continuous Improvement department within Trex.
  • Work individually and lead teams to complete projects following the 8 step process based on Toyota Production System and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Provide continuous improvement support to production employees and managers as well as other engineering departments.
  • Perform value stream mapping and complete value engineering activities. Moved up in the list to flow into next bullet.
  • Design, develop, and implement improved workflows.
  • Partner with Process Engineering and Production departments to create and update work instructions, visual aids, and standards.
  • Train employees in the principles of Lean Manufacturing (5/6S, 8 Wastes, poka yoke) and formal problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop and implement CI internship/co-op program.
  • Develop and maintain standardized time study documentation and perform time studies.
  • Identify opportunities and complete projects in line with annual CI goals.

DIRECT REPORTS

Manage and provide ongoing performance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for a team of 2 – 5 direct reports, including Continuous Improvement Engineer I - III.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other technical field. We need you to have 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing organization. You'll also need 3+ years of Six Sigma experience to be successful in this role. Experience facilitating kaizen events or lead continuous improvement projects in engineering is preferred

SALARY

Base Salary Range: $113,000 – $145,000 annually

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
