Title: Environmental Laboratory Analyst
Location: 2480 Maner Rd.SE, Atlanta, GA 30339
Duration: 3 months Contract with possible extension.
Pay Rate: $27 - $27.20 an hour in W2
US Citizenship or Green Card Required
Position Summary
The Environmental Laboratory Analyst is responsible for preparing, processing, and analyzing environmental samples to determine the presence of pollutants, contaminants, and other environmental constituents. This role supports environmental testing operations and helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Sample Preparation
• Receive, log, label, and track environmental samples.
• Apportion, weigh, spike, and prepare samples for instrumental analysis.
• Perform sample extraction, dilution, and other preparation procedures according to laboratory protocols.
• Maintain sample integrity and chain-of-custody documentation.
Laboratory Analysis & Support
• Operate analytical balances, pipettes, dispensers, and other laboratory equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory quality control requirements.
• Assist with routine environmental testing and data collection activities.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and operating properly.
Environmental Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, laboratory standards, and safety requirements.
Shipping & Receiving
• Receive customer samples and verify receipt compliance.
• Log samples into laboratory information systems.
• Prepare and ship sample collection kits to customers.
Emergency Response & Safety
• Follow laboratory safety protocols and environmental incident response procedures.
• Maintain awareness of emergency response plans related to spills, accidents, and environmental incidents.
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or related field; OR
• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or related field.
Experience
• Entry-level position; internship or academic laboratory experience preferred.
Technical Skills
• Basic laboratory techniques and practices.
• Experience using analytical balances, pipettes, and volumetric measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
