Position Description
Redhorse Corporation (Redhorse) is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Director of Engineering for the Digital Solutions Center. The Technical Director will report to the Vice President of Digital Solutions and will be the lead for engineering support activities within the company. This position will be based in National Capital Region offices in the Roslyn neighborhood of Arlington, VA.
The successful candidate will serve as the senior digital engineering expert in the companyโ€™s matrixed internal service delivery organization focused on digital transformation services. They will serve as a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Digital Solutions Catalog and the workforce development program for engineers and software developers. They will additionally serve as the senior engineering advisor within the digital solutions delivery process, leveraging corporate capabilities to support value chain activities. The Director will advise the executive leadership of the company on overall technology strategy of the company.
Essential Functions:
  • Serve as a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Digital Solutions Catalog
  • Develop and document best-practice methodologies, processes, standards and engage with project managers to evangelize, evaluate, and refine corporate best-practices.
  • Support the identification, evaluation and selection of tools and technologies
  • Prepare technical papers, reference graphics and architectures
  • Contribute expertise and experience to digital workforce development plans and activities
  • Advise on technical Position Descriptions and participate in hiring process for key technical staff
  • Serve as a mentor to existing staff and the internship program
  • Serve as a key contributor in the digital solutions delivery process.
  • In collaboration with Market Leads, BD and Capture Leads, and PMs contribute technical expertise and labor in support of value chain activities including competitive intelligence, market engagement, opportunity qualification, solution development, teaming, proposals, and technical staffing
  • Advise the Vice President of Digital Solutions on corporate strategy
Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials include:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success as both an individual contributor and leader on major software or systems engineering programs
  • Demonstrated expertise and thought leadership in the development and use of enterprise-scale cloud architectures, DEVSECOPS workflows and machine learning efforts applied to government problems.
  • Experience fielding operational systems for government customers including achieving Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Expert knowledge of machine learning
  • Proven ability to drive key client communication and expectations
  • Experience engaging clients and developing relationships at the highest levels of the Federal Government
  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand business functionality
  • Ability to foster positive business relationships
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and file sharing applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Able to work under pressure of deadlines
  • Able to work long hours and weekends if required
Preferred Qualifications include:
