Job description

TDS, a national communications and technology company, has a great opportunity for an IT Intern – Operations Support Specialist. If you are a highly motivated, hardworking and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment, then come join and add value to our IT Operations team.

If you are seeking to gain experience and exposure in the information technology field and general business, this on-site internship provides the perfect opportunity!

Duration and Work Schedule

This internship is located at our TDS Corporate headquarters in Madison, WI. It is full-time (40 hrs/week) from June through August 2026; exact start and end dates are flexible. There may be an opportunity to stay on part-time during the 2026-2027 academic year depending on course schedule and business needs.

The hourly compensation for this internship is $19.00.

As an IT Intern – Operations Support Specialist you will be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as installations, set-ups, moves and reclaims of information systems equipment. You may also participate in other team initiatives and projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or above) in information systems, computer science, networking or related field

  • Strong technical aptitude, initiative, creativity, and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
  • Computer hardware experience, a plus (Assembly/Disassembly, Component Installation, Service/Repair, and Testing)
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
