Tai Chi Instructor to lead wellness programming for older adults. Tai Chi is a gentle, low-impact practice that promotes balance, flexibility, mindfulness, and overall well-being-making it an ideal offering for our Senior Adults programs.
These opportunities are for on-site, in-person instruction only.This year-round, part-time role is perfect for an instructor who is passionate about mindful movement, healthy aging, and creating a welcoming environment for participants of all experience levels.
Schedule:Start Date:Instructor Tai Chi duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead Tai Chi classes tailored to senior adults, focusing on slow, controlled movement and breathwork.
- Teach foundational forms, balance exercises, and mindful movement sequences.
- Provide modifications and guidance to support participants with varying mobility and fitness levels.
- Foster a calm, inclusive, and supportive class environment.
- Ensure participant safety by monitoring movement and offering adjustments as needed.
- Manage class setup and cleanup.
- Maintain attendance records and complete required administrative documentation.
Instructor Tai Chi requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience teaching Tai Chi or related mindful movement practices (e.g., Qigong).
- Experience working with older adults preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a peaceful, encouraging, and accessible class environment.
