Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co-Op /Intern - Summer 2027
Where will you work: FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL with travel to other Florida sites as need it.
Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.
An Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will support APT's innovation portfolio across the global business. This may include engineering support in new product development, pilot plant design and execution, new technology design, and chemical processing. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week.
In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.
What you'll do:
  • Lead innovative engineering projects and improvement activities across Mosaic concentrate and mining processes, including development of entirely new processes.
  • Complete feasibility studies on new technology that could provide a step change improvement to aspects of mining and concentrate processing, and product development.
  • Actively engage with various levels of personnel, including operations, engineering, and functional groups to share learnings and build collaborative networks.
  • Participate and direct research activities in both laboratory and full-scale industrial operations.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:
  • Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or industrial Engineering.
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
