Job Summary
This position will report to and work collaboratively with the Senior Assistant Director to develop and oversee Club Sports and Intramural sports, maintaining program offerings and staff operations. This includes fiscal management, staff development, program outreach, and identifying and implementing program modifications to serve the community more completely.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in areas such as recreation, sport management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in sport rules design/implementation, programming, officiating experience, training officials and staff supervision.
  • Can consider direct professional internship and/or graduate assistantship experience.
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of comprehensive sports programming; establish vision and strategies that will contribute to the development of a quality and innovative program.
  • Ability to develop students' leadership, communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of risk management issues in collegiate club sports and recreation.
  • Must show ability to establish long and short-term goals consistent with the mission of the university and the division.
  • Must show ability to build, develop, and cultivate relationships across campus with a variety of constituents.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, manage, and develop student staff. Successful candidate will be self-motivated, energetic, service-minded and adept at solving problems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents.
  • Must possess strong communication (written/oral) as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with computer software (word processing, spreadsheet, electronic communication, etc.).
