Working in conjunction with the Quality Manager, Quality, Production, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Co-op Quality / Project Intern will report to the Manager of Quality & Project Management for day-to-day direction.

This position offers exposure to project coordination, quality processes, and operational support within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support project execution by coordinating activities, maintaining project documentation, and assisting with quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role provides hands-on experience across multiple functional areas, contributing to operational efficiency, project delivery, and quality outcomes.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Perform inspections, rework, and reporting of non-conforming products, participating in the escape management process.
  • Support project execution by tracking progress, maintaining schedules, and preparing status updates for stakeholders
  • Coordinate project activities, ensuring resources, materials, and information are available to meet project timelines
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and control of project documentation (project plans, schedules, budgets, and scope)
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and functional groups
  • Participate in risk identification and support implementation of mitigation strategies
  • Support quality initiatives, including data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist with analysis of project and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
  • Contribute to process improvements aligned with CORE and operational excellence objectives
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to project managers and functional teams as required
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain

What do you need to be successful?

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing studies in Industrial Engineering, Business/Commerce, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data analysis tools.
    • Familiarity with project management tools or ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
    • Understanding of basic quality principles and process improvement concepts.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
    • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with guidance.
    • Interest in aerospace manufacturing and operational excellence.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary environment.
    • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic operational setting.
