The Health Sciences Department at UNM-Taos invites applications for a half-time, Open Rank Lecturer (I-III) position beginning by Summer 2026. Join a pioneering team in the nation's only university-based Structural Integration (SI) program, located in the vibrant creative community of Taos, New Mexico. We are seeking a collaborative and passionate faculty member to teach and help lead our bi-annual SI program, advancing holistic health education and shaping the next generation of practitioners. 

Position Overview: 
This half-time faculty position offers a unique opportunity to join a thriving team in the nation's only university-based Structural Integration (SI) program, located in the creative community of Taos, New Mexico. The appointment includes 15 credits annually, with 9 credits of teaching in the Health Sciences Department (Holistic Health & Healing Arts, Massage, and Yoga) and a 6-credit administrative reassignment for SI program coordination. The SI program runs bi-annually, and when in session, the role includes an additional 3-credit summer administrative assignment for extra compensation. We seek a dynamic team player committed to supporting the growth and sustainability of SI in New Mexico and contributing to an interdisciplinary health education environment. 

Responsibilities  

Teaching & Mentorship  

• Deliver curriculum aligned with established syllabi and program outcomes.  
• Provide learning resources, record sessions, and maintain academic standards.  
• Evaluate student work using rubrics and offer constructive feedback.  
• Engage in monthly faculty meetings and maintain professional communication via UNM systems.  

Program Coordination  

• Manage SI program applications and prepare materials for selection committee.  
• Coordinate cohort enrollment and ensure compliance with IASI contact-hour requirements.  
• Support students with attendance, make-up hours, CESI exam paperwork, and licensure applications.  
• Collaborate on marketing, website updates, and program development.  
• Train to serve as Assistant Instructor within SI program.

This half-time (.5 FTE) faculty position combines teaching, mentorship, and program coordination within the Health Sciences Department, which includes Holistic Health & Healing Arts, Massage, and Yoga. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an interdisciplinary curriculum and support the growth and sustainability of SI in New Mexico.

Located approximately 130 miles north of Albuquerque, UNM-Taos is the only college within a 50-mile radius. Nestled between the Rio Grande, Sangre de Christo Mountains, and the ancestral lands of the Taos Pueblo, we are tightly connected to the unique rural, multicultural, and historically rich communities we serve and as such, UNM-Taos epitomizes the term "community college". 

UNM-Taos serves almost 1,300 students from a service area, including the counties of Taos, Rio Arriba, and Colfax, and the Pueblo Nations of Taos and Picuris. The UNM-Taos student body is representative of its communities, with 54% Hispanic and 5.5% Native American enrollment in fall 2023, making it one of the most diverse student bodies in the state. Our student population is comprised of non-traditional and first-generation students. UNM-Taos is the recipient of several federal grants, including three TRIO programs (Student Support Services and Veterans Upward Bound), Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) grants including Title V and Title III: Part F STEM, USDA NIFA, and LIFT, and most recently, a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. 

About 80% of UNM-Taos alumni remain in the area and provide valuable contributions to the region's intellectual life, economy, cultural community, and primary industries including healthcare, tourism, and construction.
