Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking Associate Systems Engineers / Systems Engineers. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Oklahoma City, OK. Other possible locations include Palmdale, CA, Redondo Beach, CA, El Segundo, CA, Camarillo, CA, Beale AFB, CA, Nellis AFB, NV, or Emerado, ND.

The qualified candidates will become part of Northrop Grumman's Systems Engineering Organization.

The selected candidates will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to provide imaginative, technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The candidates will be executing tasks in system engineering and integration functions. The selected candidates should be able to support SE disciplines including full development life-cycle processes, use case development, capability (hardware and software) development, integration planning, lab integration, test planning, formal test, verification and fielded test and mission support. Candidates must exhibit strong leadership characteristics in coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks.

Other duties include:

  • Develop new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.

  • Simulate real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems.

  • Provide support to flight test and fielded assets

  • Develop, integrate and use advanced graphical user interfaces, interface definitions, integration plans and visualization tools.

  • Evaluate integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found.

  • Model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.

  • Perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.

  • Implement requirements verification methodology and traceability

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Systems (T01) or Engineer Systems (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Systems (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below

criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or a similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or a similar STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

  • Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements

  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills

  • Scripting experience

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering V model and Design processes

  • Familiarity with TeamCenter PLC and JIRA/Confluence

  • Demonstrated experience with IFC Development and Management

  • Demonstrated experience performing lab integration of complex technical capabilities

  • Familiarity with requirements decomposition and verification campaigns

Pay Range

  • Associate Engineer Systems: 62,300.00 - 114,400.00
  • Engineer Systems: 75,100.00 - 137,600.00
Primary Level Salary Range: $62,300.00 - $114,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $75,100.00 - $137,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
