Position Summary:
The Athletic department is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. The coach will contribute to fostering a positive team culture that reflects the university's mission and athletic standards. This position works under the direction of the Head Men's Soccer Coach and helps uphold the mission and values of the university and athletic department.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong assistant leadership and build meaningful relationships with student-athletes through daily communication, accountability, mentorship, and support of team culture standards.
  • Lead and assist with on-field training sessions and matchday responsibilities, including session organization, coaching instruction, video analysis, and implementation of the program's game model.
  • Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes to UMSV through identification, evaluation, communication, campus visits, and consistent relationship-building with recruits and families.
  • Support the academic development and overall well-being of student-athletes through study hall oversight, academic check-ins, and mentorship aligned with institutional expectations.
  • Be fully immersed in the day-to-day operations of the men's soccer program and college coaching environment, including administrative duties, communication, event operations, travel preparation, equipment management, and program development initiatives.

Requirements
  • Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in college soccer coaching.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and high energy, professionalism, and strong relationship-building abilities with student-athletes and staff.
  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation strongly preferred
