What is an Internship Skunkworks?

An Internship Skunkworks refers to a specialized internship program where interns work on innovative, experimental, or secret projects, typically outside the standard organizational structure. The term 'skunkworks' originally comes from the aerospace industry and now applies to any team given the freedom to pursue advanced or unconventional ideas. These internships are designed to encourage creativity and rapid problem-solving, often focusing on developing new products, technologies, or business strategies. Interns in skunkworks teams gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge projects and are encouraged to think outside the box.
