Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The Material Handler is responsible for performing physical and administrative tasks related to the receiving, storage, inventory control, kitting, and shipment of materials, parts, and equipment. This role supports warehouse operations and production by ensuring material accuracy, proper handling, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Pick parts and build kits based on bill of materials (BOM)
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders
Perform put-away activities and maintain accurate inventory locations
Prepare materials for shipment, including packing, labeling, and documentation
Process shipments using carrier systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL)
Create and maintain shipping and receiving records/logs
Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution
Issue materials to production and support shortage resolution
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, planning, procurement) to ensure on-time delivery
Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in:

    • Warehouse operations

    • Inventory control

    • Shipping and receiving

  • Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment preferred

  • Familiarity with major shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL)

  • Experience working in a technical manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) for inventory and transactions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for tracking and reporting

  • Familiarity with shipping systems and documentation, including:

    • FedEx, UPS, DHL

    • Bills of Lading

    • International shipping / customs documentation

  • Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment (certification preferred)

  • Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Prior experience supporting:

    • Kitting / production environments

    • Inventory control and cycle counting

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

  • Strong team collaboration and cross-functional communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience
