Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

An effective LPRD is responsible for the protection of all company assets and achieving shortage and safety goals set for the division. This is done by supervising and promoting Loss Prevention initiatives and programs. It is further accomplished by developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the Vice President of Store Operations. Through this partnership the LPRD implements shortage and safety related solutions designed to reduce losses through a combination of applications which include data analysis, audits, training programs and investigations. The LPRD will ensure that all Asset Protection and Safety audits are completed in accordance with the matrix and that audits are done consistently and objectively. Additionally, the LPRD will supervise all aspects of internal and external investigations as well as ensuring the proper training and development of all LP personnel. By having direct involvement with the training of DMs, Store Supervisory staffs and Associates in shortage control and safety awareness the LPRD will help drive the company's shortage and accident reduction goals. The LPRD will ensure accurate and timely submission of all required reports and will effectively handle all other duties assigned by the VP of Loss Prevention.  
To achieve an effective partnership with Store Operations the LPRD must develop and maintain ongoing communication and interaction with their VP, DMs, SHRMs and Store Teams through participation in meetings, conference calls and store visits. Additional partnerships will also be developed as the LPRD works with cross functional groups and departments to ensure integrated solutions that impact shortage control and accident reduction initiatives.
The LPRD must be results oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills; have the highest level of personal integrity; and provide direction and leadership to their direct reports.

The base salary range for this role is $115,200 - $216,600. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Directs all aspects of Shortage and Accident Reduction Goals for the Division. 
    Develops action plan for Shortage Initiative.
    Supervises and trains all LPDMs. 
    Manages all aspects of internal and external investigations.
    Responsible for the physical security of all buildings. 
    Manages LP Budgets.
    Manages all third-party relationships pertaining to Loss Prevention or Safety.
    Effective partnership with VP of Store Ops and Human Resources to ensure integrated solutions that impacts shortage control and accident reduction.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Experience in the successful implementation of loss prevention, shortage control, accident reduction and fraud prevention programs.
    Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
    Ability to assist the Vice President of Loss Prevention and RVP in training Ross Store management and hourly associates through specialized meetings and ongoing awareness campaigns dealing with Shortage and Safety control measures.
    Assist the Vice President of Loss Prevention in developing and upgrading training materials and concepts for awareness training sessions.
    Have the ability to Supervise and conduct confidential, detailed investigations and interviews.
    Handle considerable travel.
    Computer Skills to include Word, Excel And PowerPoint
    BA Degree or greater, preferably in Business, Criminal Justice or other related fields. Two years of directly related experience may be substituted for each year of required college

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. 
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.  
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking and moving around the store.
Ability to occasionally bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift and carry up to 20lbs.
Job requires traveling frequently
For hybrid: This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
