An Internship Selenium job involves gaining hands-on experience in software testing using the Selenium automation framework. Interns work under the guidance of senior testers or developers to write and execute test scripts, identify bugs, and ensure the functionality of web applications. They may also learn about test automation frameworks, debugging techniques, and best practices in software testing. This role helps build practical knowledge of automation testing tools and prepares interns for careers in quality assurance and test automation.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on during a Selenium internship?

As a Selenium intern, you can typically expect to work on tasks such as developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications, identifying and reporting bugs, and contributing to test planning and documentation. You may also assist with updating test cases to reflect new application features and work alongside senior QA engineers to analyze test results. Interns often participate in team meetings and may be assigned independent or collaborative mini-projects to improve automation coverage. This provides hands-on experience with industry tools and practices, helping you build a strong foundation for a future career in software testing and automation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the internship Selenium position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Internship Selenium, you need a foundational understanding of software testing concepts, programming basics (preferably in Java, Python, or C#), and a keen attention to detail. Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver and related test automation frameworks, as well as experience with version control systems like Git, is typically expected. Strong problem-solving abilities, eagerness to learn, and effective communication skills help interns collaborate with development and QA teams. These competencies ensure accurate automation, efficient teamwork, and a platform for professional growth in the field of quality assurance.

Job description

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Lyntris is a defense technology company that connects sensing to action across the connected battlespace. Lyntris brings together the talents of Accelint and Vitesse teams under one mission, with each contributing deep expertise within their domain. Combining differentiated hardware, software and mission expertise, Lyntris helps customers sense threats, make sense of complex conditions and act with greater speed, precision and confidence in contested environments. Lyntris supports U.S. and allied defense organizations across every branch - including Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force and allied partners - spanning strategic, operational and tactical missions and every domain: Space, Air, Land, Sea and Cyber. With more than 200 active defense programs, Lyntris works at every level of the mission, from national command authority to the tactical edge. Solutions are designed by operators who understand the mission, engineered for the conditions that degrade or defeat standard systems, and built on an open, modular architecture that integrates into existing programs without requiring them to start over. Lyntris moves faster than the traditional defense cycle - with integrated design, build and test capabilities in-house - and delivers systems that sustain and endure long after initial fielding. Job Description * Test Engineer * Full Time * Onsite/Hybrid Prefered The Test Engineer plays a critical role in software validation by designing, executing, and assisting with the maintenance of test cases to ensure the system meets defined requirements, perform as intended, and is free of defects prior to deployments. This position is responsible for software verification and validation (V&V) activities, ensuring that enterprise systems meet functional performance, and compliance requirements - particularly for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The Test Engineer will support formal and informal testing while ensuring the collection of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to support system certification and accreditation. The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of relevant experience in software testing, validation and test automation within complex IT enterprise systems such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or similar platforms in regulated settings - and possesses hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts. Duties & Responsibilities * Design, develop, and execute test cases to validate system functionality, data integrity, and end-to-end business processes. * Maintain and refine automated test scripts using approved automation tools (e.g., Eggplant, Selenium, Katalon, or equivalent automated testing tools). * Support end-to-end validation efforts across integrated systems, including PLM, ERP, and interface/data exchange processes. * Support in the coordination and completion of internal testing activities (e.g., smoke, system, functional and regression testing) to ensure timely development completion and quality devlivery of software. * Ensure all testing activities produce appropriate OQE artifacts in support of DoD compliance requirements. * Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development and functional teams to support resolution and retesting. * Analyze test results and provide clear, concise status updates and report to the Test Lead. * Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects to align with DoD validation requirements. * Assist in building and expanding the regression test suite to support ongoing releases and system changes. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., QA, IT, business users) to ensure alignment of testing scope, data, and expected outcomes. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and quality. * Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required; advanced degree, relevant internship experience, or equivalent hands-on industry experience may be considered in lieu of traditional qualifications . * 2+ years of experience with test automation frameworks, scripting languages, and tools (e.g., Selenium, Katalon, Eggplant, Python, XML, JSON). * Experience with PLM platforms (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia) or other enterprise systems. * Strong working knowledge of test planning, execution, and documentation aligned with DoD standards. * Experience producing OQE artifacts to support system certification/accreditation or acceptance reviews. * Proficient with tools such as Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively across technical and non-technical teams. * Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) * Familiarity with DoD or federal system development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and compliance requirements. * Knowledge of DoD software documentation standards, including SDD, IDD, SDP, ICD, and CDRL requirements. * Understanding of RMF, ATO, and Cybersecurity Testing/Validation (e.g., STIG compliance). * Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Testing (MBT) practices. * Experience in Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments, and use of tools like Zephyr, TestRail, or qTest. * Security+ or other DoD 8570-compliant certification preferred.
