Job description

Title: Security Specialist – 3rd Shift

Reports To: Security Manager
Note:
Must have a valid driver’s license as this position requires driving to our different locations. Must be able to work M-F 11pm – 7:30am CT.
Overview:
Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We have moved operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry. As a result of our expansion, we are looking for a Security Specialist to join our growing security team.                     
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Security Specialist to oversee the safety and security of our properties. This position requires a strong focus on monitoring security cameras, securing premises, and investigating incidents to ensure a safe and secure environment. The ideal candidate will possess keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to security.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Camera Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze live footage from surveillance cameras to detect any suspicious activity or potential threats.
  • Incident Investigation: Respond promptly to security incidents, investigate breaches or suspicious activities, document findings, and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Property Surveillance & Security: Perform regular property patrols to ensure physical security, checking for security vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, and ensuring all security systems are operational.
  • Access Control: Manage and monitor access points, ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed entry. Oversee key control procedures and maintain security of restricted areas.
  • Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including intrusions, fire alarms, medical incidents, and other security-related events, following established protocols.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate with law enforcement, management, and other teams as necessary during investigations or incidents. Prepare and submit incident reports, security audits, and other required documentation.
  • Security System Maintenance: Ensure that all security systems, including cameras, alarms, and access control devices, are properly maintained and operational.
  • Training & Awareness: Assist in the training of staff on security procedures and safety protocols. Promote a culture of security awareness among employees and visitors.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a security or surveillance role.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, including CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Excellent observational and investigative skills, with the ability to assess and respond to situations quickly and effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Certification in security, surveillance, or first aid (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol properties for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate security equipment, including monitoring cameras and alarms.
  • Must be able to lift or move objects as needed.

Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a pre-employment drug testing and physical test.
