Job description

Introduction Our client is a hospital providing 24/7 specialty and emergency veterinary care and is currently hiring an Emergency Veterinarian. The practice operates as a referral-level hospital with a strong focus on emergency medicine, critical care, and specialty services, supporting a fast-paced and collaborative clinical environment. Working Hours / Rota This is a full-time position. The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, delivering continuous emergency and critical care services. Role Description and Responsibilities The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for caring for sick and injured patients presenting on an emergency basis, as well as managing hospitalized cases. Duties include assessing patients, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and overseeing technicians carrying out patient care. The role also involves performing surgeries, providing critical care, and maintaining a high standard of service within the emergency department. Experience in emergency medicine is strongly recommended, including prior work experience or completion of a small animal rotating or emergency internship. Practice Details The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and specialty care, including critical care and specialty referral services in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, and neurology. The practice is supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, an in-house laboratory, and a referral-focused infrastructure designed to manage complex and high-acuity cases. Team The team consists of 21 DVMs working across emergency and specialty services within a highly collaborative environment. The hospital culture emphasizes teamwork, resilience, communication, and a patient-first mindset to deliver exceptional veterinary care.
