Job description

Kindle is among the bestselling products in the history of Amazon, with a rich legacy for driving customer-focused innovation. Kindle helps millions of customers read more, write more, and build healthy lasting habits through purpose-built Kindle devices and apps. Our continued growth requires leaders who operate both strategically and tactically; think big to drive new opportunities; dive deep in data to uncover customer insights; and break down and solve complex problems.
Kindle is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own engagement marketing strategy for Kindle devices like Paperwhite, Colorsoft, and Scribe. Using customer insights and data-driven decision making, you will help shape how customers discover, adopt, and stay engaged with Kindle reading and writing experiences.
This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work closely with Product Management, Analytics, Go-to-Market, Finance, and our international teams to bring your strategy to life, and ultimately delight Kindle customers. If you're passionate about the future of reading and writing and working on products that become an essential part of people's daily lives, this role offers you the chance to make a lasting impact on how people engage with the written word in the digital age.
Key job responsibilities
In This Role, You Will
- Develop and execute the engagement marketing roadmap for Kindle devices and software, including new feature launches and ongoing engagement programs.
- Build and run lifecycle engagement programs: onboarding journeys, retention and lapse-prevention campaigns, habit-building initiatives that drive reading engagement and Kindle Scribe writing engagement.
- Partner with hardware GTM teams on device launches - supporting and aligning engagement marketing to hardware moments.
- Contribute to software GTM for Kindle reading, coordinating feature launches and roadmap moments with KINEX software partners.
- Define audience strategy, messaging, positioning, and campaign copy direction for engagement marketing across owned channels.
- Lead engagement programs end-to-end: set success criteria, partner with analytics on measurement, and scale what works.
- Author written narratives and executive readouts that report progress, translate metric movement into clear drivers and recommended actions, and inform recurring leadership reviews (e.g., monthly and quarterly business reviews, operating-plan cycles).
- Bring marketing rigor to international markets, partnering with regional teams on localization, prioritization, and market-specific go-to-market plans.
- Partner with Gamification, Kindle Rewards and Deals, Legal, Finance, and other partners to launch programs across email, push, in-app, and other owned surfaces.
About the team
This role sits within the Kindle Software Product Management team that owns the customer facing software experiences across all Kindle devices and apps - ranging from how you read, write, navigate, acquire content and more. We believe reading is essential for a healthy society; our mission is to be the world's favorite place to read, write and get more out of reading.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis
- Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
- Experience in data-driven business operations processes
- Experience with digital technologies, consumer products, media, and e-commerce
- Experience in customer lifecycle marketing or partner marketing management
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to drive marketing initiatives world-wide
