Job description

Responsibilities of an Intern within the J-1 Program include:
  • 3 / 6 / 12 months in a frontline position in disciplines such as: Guest Services, Housekeeping, or Food & Beverage (flexible based on the student's specific interests)
  • Rotational job-shadowing to gain exposure to different departments and disciplines
  • A meaningful project to execute and present to the property leadership team at the conclusion of the program
  • On-the job, self-paced learning with access to our extensive video training library for knowledge and skill development
  • Opportunity to network with program participants within your property and across the company
  • Professional development and targeted growth opportunities in hotel/resort operations, leadership experience and business acumen

Required Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in Business Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary or similar higher education degree
  • Available to complete at minimum a 3-month program (May to August)
  • A cumulative 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Experience utilizing basic math skills with ability to add, subtract multiply and divide
  • Advanced written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents in English such as reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and business needs
  • Schedules will include working evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must obtain appropriate unrestricted work authorization in the US for the agreed to duration of visa program (3, 6, or 12-months)
  • Employee Housing is available at a number of our locations and may be provided at the cost of determined rent. In certain locations, housing may not be offered by the employer and is the responsibility of the intern to secure for the duration of the program.
  • Must be passionate about hospitality and service

  • Intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, and self-motivated
  • The essential functions of this position require physical ability including the ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and stretch regularly, visually survey with depth and color, speaking, mental focus, manual dexterity of the hands, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
