  • Successfully complete the Career Development Facilitator training
  • Attend annual South Carolina Education and Business Summit

Job Goal: Assist designated schools with implementation of the District's Pathways project
Performance Responsibilities:
Work with business and community partnerships to support the pathways to Success initiative in the following ways:
  • Partnering with an Academy of Study
    • Job Shadowing / Internships / Career Presentations / Business Facility Tours
    • Summer Employment / Apprenticeships / Business Mentors
    • Task Force / School Improvement Team Members
    • Other activities as deemed appropriate
  • Coordinate and present professional development workshops in career development and guidance for teachers, school counselors, and work-based constituents
  • Assist schools in promoting quality career development opportunities for students
  • Assist school counselors and students in identifying and assessing career information and resource material
  • Provide educators, parents, and students with information on career and technology education programs offered in the district
  • Assist students in the selection of an area of academic focus within a cluster of study and appropriate methods of preparation
  • Assist personnel with methods to improve and promote career development opportunities within the district
  • Attend continuing education programs on the certified career development facilitator curriculum sponsored by the state
  • Assist with the selection, administration, and evaluation of career-interest inventories
  • Assist with the implementation of the district's student career plan or individual graduation plan
  • Assist schools in planning, developing and delivering information to parents on career development
  • Coordinate with school counselors and administration the planning and execution of career events, career classes, and career programming
  • Coordinate community resources and citizens representing diverse occupations in career development activities for parents and students
  • Assist with the usage of computer-assisted career guidance systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned
