Job description

Work Period: July 13, 2026 to September 4, 2026

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA.  There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

Join the SharkNinja Early Edge Experience: Built for early career talent. Geared toward impact. Driven by speed. Whether you're in a co-op or internship, our early talent program is designed to provide valuable exposure to the industry and a fast-paced professional environment. You'll dive into meaningful projects and tasks that sharpen your skills and deepen your knowledge. Along the way, you'll benefit from professional development opportunities, community events, and connections that make your experience well-rounded and enriching. Your time with us will culminate in an opportunity to showcase your contributions and learnings to SharkNinja leaders because this is a program for those ready to shape what's next - fast.

This role: As a RoboShark Intern, you'll take on real engineering challenges that help bring SharkNinja's next generation of robotic products to life. From intelligent software-driven systems to advanced electromechanical solutions, you'll work alongside a team that is redefining what consumers expect from robotics innovation.

You'll gain hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and improving robotic systems while collaborating with world-class engineers across Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, Test, and Quality Engineering. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, develop technical expertise, and make a tangible impact on products that reach millions of consumers.

We're seeking current bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students, as well as recent graduates (within one year of graduation), with a strong foundation in robotics, mechatronics, embedded systems, and product development who are eager to move fast, solve complex problems, and learn in a highly collaborative environment.

Please note that participants must be willing and able to assign to SharkNinja any intellectual property developed during their RoboShark Internship experience. Current students are responsible for confirming that participation in the program, and any related intellectual property assignment obligations, are permitted under their university's policies, program requirements, and any other applicable agreements.

Exceptional performers may be considered for future internship, co-op, or full-time opportunities with SharkNinja.

Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:

  • Design, prototype, test, and refine robotics and mechatronics solutions for next-generation consumer products
  • Support the development and validation of robotic systems through hands-on experimentation, testing, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, Test, and Quality Engineering teams to evaluate tradeoffs and optimize integrated product performance
  • Build and evaluate prototypes while validating system performance, reliability, and user experience
  • Participate in technical deep dives and design reviews to identify root causes, challenge assumptions, and develop innovative solutions
  • Support feasibility studies, CAD development, engineering analysis, and technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Apply first-principles thinking to complex engineering challenges and contribute creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Present project updates, technical findings, and recommendations to engineering stakeholders and SharkNinja leaders

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

  • Education: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field, or have graduated from such a program within the past year
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Demonstrated experience with mechatronic or robotic system design and development through academic, research, competition, startup, internship, or professional projects
  • Experience with cross-functional projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software components
  • Experience creating and executing experimental test plans to evaluate performance and inform engineering decisions
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks and/or Creo)
  • Experience integrating sensors, actuators, motors, embedded software, and electronics into electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes and conducting experimental testing in a laboratory, workshop, research, or product development environment
  • Comfortable multitasking and responding quickly to shifting priorities
  • Ability to identify, develop, implement, and validate technical solutions both independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, strong first-principles thinking, positive can-do attitude, and proven ability to develop robust and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
  • Embodies SharkNinja's success drivers:
    • Rarely Satisfied - Adopt a "no delays" mentality in delivering against market needs/timing
    • Progress over Perfection - Make quick, daily progress and continuously adapt to achieve results rather than requiring perfect planning
    • Details Make the Difference - Can coordinate timelines & deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency across all consumer-facing materials
    • Winning is a Team Sport - Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships
    • Communicate for Impact - Strong communication skills - ability to deliver effective presentations to all levels of management and both technical and non-technical colleagues
