Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity – Show Low, AZ

Direct Hire | Full-Time | Day or Night Shift (12 Hours)

A community-focused healthcare facility in Show Low, AZ is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. This full-time, permanent role offers competitive pay, relocation assistance, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 1-year commitment.

This position is ideal for an RN with strong experience in high-risk OB care, fetal monitoring, and OB emergencies , who can confidently work independently in a critical setting.

Position Overview

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 12-hour shifts: Days (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) or Nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
  • Work across Labor & Delivery and couplet care
  • High-risk OB patient population
  • Collaborative team with strong support staff

Compensation & Incentives

  • Pay range: $31.00 – $47.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (1-year commitment)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for laboring, postpartum mothers, and newborns
  • Perform and interpret fetal monitoring
  • Recognize and respond to fetal distress and OB emergencies independently until provider arrival
  • Care for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
  • Assist with and support C-section procedures
  • Deliver couplet care for mother and newborn
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Float to Med Surg or ED if experienced and needed

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2–3 years of Labor & Delivery experience (Required)
  • C-section experience (Required)
  • Strong proficiency in fetal monitoring and intervention for fetal distress
  • Experience with high-risk OB patients (Required)
  • Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia
  • Ability to manage OB emergencies independently
  • Experience in both L&D and couplet care

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (Required)
  • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (Required)

Unit & Facility Details

  • 7 Labor & Delivery beds
  • 2 Triage beds
  • 10 Postpartum beds
  • Approximately 1–3 births per day (~830 annually)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 1:2
  • Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
  • Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, OB scrub techs, and unit secretaries
  • 24/7 in-house pharmacy
  • OB/Neonatologist not in-house

Schedule

  • Full-time, 12-hour shifts (Days or Nights)
  • Orientation offered weekly (Mondays)
  • Weekend requirement: Minimum 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Call: 1 shift per 4-week schedule
