Job description

Overview

The Program Director for a state contracted service (see list above), will oversee the operations and management of that service area in accordance with the contract specifications. The senior director will ensure that the program operates in such a way that it meets clinical, programmatic, staff, and fiscal objectives.

Pay: $60,000-$65,0000 Annually

Responsibilities

Direct the program such that all elements of the contract are achieved and/or exceeded within the context of YOU, Inc.'s programming, policy and procedures. In collaboration with the Senior Director, examine, evaluate, and adjust program implementation to ensure that annual goals, work plans, and objectives are met.

Maintain the staffing required by the contract and uphold the agency value and commitment to diversity and inclusion in staffing. Oversee personnel management including the hiring, training, supervising, evaluation and support of staff and interns who will be able to fulfill essential functions, develop professionally and provide excellent service delivery. Oversee any performance management and/or progressive discipline issues that arise. Provide direct supervision to staff at the site as appropriate to credentialing, licensure, and contract.

With the Senior Director, attend to statewide trends and initiatives such that the program director can engage in strategic thinking and position the program to be at the forefront of statewide service delivery. Participate in statewide coalitions as they relate to service area.

Oversee day-to-day operations of the program to ensure fiscal accountability and that the highest quality care and service delivery is provided and documented in keeping with best practice standards, regulatory standards and agency standards. Ensure that all training, quality assurance, and compliance standards are met.

Collaborate with community provider partners and other community stakeholders in order to reach mutual goals, enhance program services, foster communication, identify area needs, and best serve the needs of consumers.

In conjunction with the Senior Director for Support and Resources, develop a budget/s for the program. Monitor budgets regularly and ensure that all budgetary expectations are achieved.

Monitor issues of risk and/or potential risk, and report issues of immediate concern to the Senior Director, VP, and the CEO if needed.

Compose oneself with professionalism, ethical practice, and compassionate regard for consumers/clients. To this end, the Program Director should demonstrate competency, reliability, honesty, integrity, respectfulness, continued learning, positivity, mutual support, effective collaboration, active listening, and attention to the responsibilities of the job. The Program Director should dress neatly, professionally, and appropriately to the situation. The Program Director should communicate orally with etiquette, honesty, respectfulness and composure; written communication should demonstrate excellence and be in keeping with the policies and procedures of the agency. Through the role of Program Director, model a philosophy and practice stance that:o Promotes client-centered care that adheres to best practice standards and recognizes "client voice and client choice,"o Recognizes the multiple perspectives of clients and their caregiving system,o Demonstrates a commitment to supporting inclusion, equity and diversity of people that might otherwise be marginalized or oppressed,o Utilizes active and reflective listening, as well as the exchange of supportive and effective feedback related to issues of clinical care and practice as well as general performance,o Orients oneself in a strengths-based approach,o Develops an understanding of the impact of trauma and substance use,o Provides positive regard, empathy, curiosity, respect, and professionalism,o Establishes and maintains clear expectations and strong professional boundaries,o Attunes to the client/consumer/community provider partner and their natural support system/agency, ando Remains cognizant of and proactive about any issues of safety / risk.

Additional Responsibilities

Serve on inter-agency or external committees, as needed. Represent the agency at community events, as appropriate. Work in an integrative, collaborative, and supportive fashion with other departments within the agency, and provides assistance as needed. May provide occasional trainings inside or outside the agency as needed, within the scope of expertise. Provide direct services as needed and/or as appropriate. Attend to any on-call/after-hours required by the program. Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrated strong knowledge of child/youth and family clinical care, as well as mental health, educational, developmental care, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems.

Proof of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions is required. Privately owned vehicle has current and valid state registration and safety inspection sticker, is safe, and is ensured according to the minimum state requirements (pertaining to bodily injury and liability). As per Massachusetts state law, driving under the influence of any substance is against the law, prohibited, and may be grounds for immediate termination.

Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, collaboration, and independent judgment.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative, analytical and decisive in problem solving. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated administrative and organizational capabilities. Ability to work effectively with others.

Knowledgeable of program specifications per contract, regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and/or other laws and regulations related to service delivery.

High level of knowledge and competency with client directed work, including attending to identifying areas of risk, safety planning, service delivery and discharge planning as relevant to contract. Ability to ensure that service delivery meets contract specifications.

Ability to supervise, manage, and direct program staff.

Must be able to perform sedentary aspects of position, including, but not limited to desk and electronic work, driving to meetings and trainings, as well as driving/transporting clients as necessary. Must be able to perform the duties listed above, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Employee may be required to intervene in order to de-escalate and/or provide safety and if essential, provide physical management of clients, using methods and techniques approved by YOU, Inc. and appropriate to setting. Employee needs to complete the agency's human service worker safety training.
