Andritz Hydro Canada is offering a fall internship with its mechanical engineering design teams. This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge within a leading company in the hydroelectric field. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects, collaborating with seasoned experts. The practical experience gained during the internship will contribute to the development of your mechanical design skills and understanding of engineering processes.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist the design engineer in developing 3D models and 2D drawings and listing parts associated with these drawings.
  • Reviewing drawings and parts lists to ensure their accuracy, in accordance with customer specifications and established design standards.
  • Contributing to documentation management, meeting organization, and other administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the team.
  • Conduct documentary research to gather relevant information related to ongoing projects, thereby supporting the team's efforts.
  • Assist with the logistical coordination of projects.
  • Participate in light maintenance tasks on office equipment or tools used in design work.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of engineering tools, methods, and processes to optimize efficiency and quality of deliverables.

 

What you need to succeed:

    Be enrolled in your second or third year of mechanical engineering studies

  • Have completed, or be in the process of completing, university courses in statics and dynamics, materials and strength of materials, as well as fluid mechanics.

    Be highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

    Demonstrate mechanical aptitude (3D conceptualization and perception, mechanism assembly, knowledge of mechanical connection and locking elements, practical applications)

    Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and changing priorities

    Good communication skills & interpersonal skills

    Bilingual
