Job description

The purpose of this position is to render direct clinical services to children, families, and adults, across a broad range of presenting needs, including trauma, family systems, and behavioral issues.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Client/Family Therapy/Services

  • Provides assessment and intervention to clients who are experiencing mental health symptoms related to traumatic event(s)
  • Co-facilitates group therapy sessions for adolescents and adults
  • Provides onsite and community trainings with a focus on enhancing resilience
  • Willingness to run groups with a focus on mind, body spirit health (yoga, mindfulness, meditation, art)
  • Carries a caseload for both teletherapy and in-office work involving any or all of the Agency’s services, which will include individual, child, family, couples, and
    may include group treatment modality.
  • Performs a full range of clinical duties including the gathering and analysis of data, formulation of assessment and creation of treatment plans with oversight
    and supervision by supervisor.
  • Facilitation and development of wellness opportunities.
  • Develops understanding of clients’ situations, providing appropriate services with supervisory consultation.
  • Provides community and agency trainings regarding trauma and related distress
  • Participate in weekly group supervision
  • Clinician will receive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Attend agency-held clinical training
Administrative
  • With supervision, learns the policies and procedures of the agency and program.
  • Performs record keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the program, including written treatment documentation that is complaint with
    program and regulatory requirements within the required time frames, consistently meets time frames.
  • Maintain 20 billable service hours per week
Program Support
  • Actively participate in weekly individual and group supervision
  • Participates in agency staff development programs, professional group seminars, and committees to increase professional knowledge
  • Collaborates with other agency personnel, supervisors, appropriate specialists, or consultants on specific case-related problems
  • Represent JCFS, and its programs positively to internal and external contacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related Human Services field, such as Counseling, or Marriage/Family Therapy, from an accredited program.
  • Requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to move between West Rogers Park, Skokie and Northbrook locations.
  • Must be able to work evenings at least two days per week
  • Self-awareness and the ability to remain calm and professional when handling conflict and disruptive behavior
Preferred:
  • Trauma and resilience training/education certificate
  • Strong clinical field placements, internships, or comparable experience. Couples and/or family therapy experience

Compensation: The minimum compensation for this position is starting at Unlicensed Clinician starting at $52,000 annually; Licensed clinician starting at $58,000 annually Final compensation will be determined based on experience.
