Job description

Overview
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Renewable Energy practice in Towson, MD!
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects
  • Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
  • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Operating with integrity and sound business principles
    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
    • Establishing goals
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
    • Having open communication with your partners and team
    • Growing and leading a Renewable Energy practice
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing renewable energy or related projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for wind energy projects
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
  • Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
