Job description

Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a social services organization seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Total Rewards Director to join their People team. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the employee experience by managing benefits administration, conducting compensation benchmarking, and maintaining data integrity within our HRIS (ADP). You will act as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership—including partnering directly with our Chief People Officer (CPO)—while driving key initiatives like our upcoming Compensation & Career Architecture Design project.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary internal contact for employee benefits inquiries and facilitate benefits sessions during new employee orientation.

  • Lifecycle Management: Process qualifying life events, monitor benefit eligibility, manage enrollments and terminations with brokers/carriers, and handle retiree prescription reimbursements.

  • Reconciliation & Operations: Reconcile benefit deductions in close partnership with the Payroll and Finance teams.

  • Vendor & Compliance Coordination: Partner with our benefits broker to resolve claim/eligibility issues, maintain plan documents and employee communications, and ensure all legal/compliance deadlines are met.

HRIS Administration (ADP)
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate employee records and data integrity within ADP.

  • System Support: Troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with the ADP Professional Services team.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate customized reports, workforce metrics, and analytics for the CPO to inform decision-making.

  • Integrations & Implementations: Support payroll integrations alongside Finance, and assist with implementing select talent management system modules.

Compensation Administration
  • Market Benchmarking: Conduct position description reviews and price current/new roles using salary survey tools.

  • Pay Recommendations: Develop data-driven salary recommendations, review promotion and equity adjustments, and support offer approvals.

  • Executive Advisement: Serve as a subject matter expert and advise the CPO on compensation-related questions.

  • Strategic Projects: Support the Compensation and Career Architecture Design initiative in partnership with our external consulting firm.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years of combined experience in design, implementation, and benefits administration for multi-state organizations plus 3+ years of managerial experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration or related field.

  • HRIS Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience using ADP (ADP Workforce Now or similar) for core HR data management and reporting.

  • Compensation Tools: Hands-on experience with compensation benchmarking platforms like CompAnalyst or similar market data tools.

  • Benefits Knowledge: Solid understanding of health, welfare, and retirement plan administration, qualifying life events, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel and HR analytics.

  • Communication & Discretion: Strong interpersonal skills with a consultative approach when advising business leaders, handling sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
