Job description

We are seeking a motivated student to join the Special Projects & Initiatives Department at the International Corporate Headquarters (ICHQ) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. for a 12 week internship. This role offers hands-on exposure to business operations within a nonprofit membership organization.


The Special Projects & Initiatives Department supports programs and initiatives that generate non-dues revenue and expand the organization’s operational capacity. Through efforts such as e-commerce operations, retail initiatives, vendor partnerships, and strategic projects, the department works to diversify income streams that help sustain and advance the organization’s mission and vision.


As the Special Projects & Initiatives Intern, you will support the Special Projects & Initiatives Manager with day-to-day e-commerce operations, vendor coordination, and operational support for retail initiatives and organizational programs. This role provides practical experience in retail merchandising, operational logistics, and customer engagement while supporting initiatives that contribute to the organization’s sustainability.


Qualified candidates should be organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team.


Key Responsibilities


Sigma Store Operations & Vendor Support

  • Support e-commerce store operations, including returns coordination, audits, reporting, and inventory tracking
  • Assist with fulfillment coordination and order management support
  • Support vendor and partner communications related to retail initiatives and exhibit participation
  • Assist with planning and operational coordination for the Sigma Store
  • Conduct research and provide administrative support for departmental projects and strategic initiatives

Internship Exposure

  • Practical experience in nonprofit business operations and revenue diversification initiatives
  • Exposure to e-commerce management, retail merchandising, and vendor coordination
  • Opportunities to collaborate with leaders across the organization

Candidate Criteria & Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools

Experience in e-commerce operations, retail merchandising, vendor coordination, POS systems, or customer service environments preferred.
