You will report to a senior manager, litigation.

$99,000.00 - $167,000.00

What You'll Do:

  • Handle First Party Property litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
  • Handle First Party Property files and issues of a more complex nature with higher levels of dollar exposure and requiring less oversight. Communicates with client regarding file status and progress.
  • Analyze files as litigation progresses as well as risk to the company. Evaluates cases and seeks settlement as necessary.
  • Draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation activities at the trial or appellate level. Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities.
  • Advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal.
  • Negotiate effectively in the resolution all issues.
  • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service on First Party Property cases.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions and discovery and deposing witnesses on First Party Property cases.
  • Demonstrated litigation experience on First Party Property cases.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the jurisdiction in which they practice.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law on First Party Property cases.
  • Admitted to the Florid state bar.
  • Juris Doctorate

  • Up to 50%.
