About the Role & Internship

Working at ESPN means helping shape how sports fans experience the biggest moments in sports across every platform. From breaking news and live events to studio shows and original storytelling, ESPN reaches millions of fans each day through social media, television, streaming, and digital platforms.

The Digital Video Newsroom Internship is an opportunity for an up-and-coming video editor to gain professional experience in a fast-paced, sports environment. The candidate will learn about the production and editing of trending video content on ESPN-branded digital channels both domestically and globally. This role will work within the Digital Video newsroom creating content and completing daily assignments such as custom edits and producing digital highlights. The approximate dates of this remote internship are September - December 2026.

What You Will Do

  • Identify trending game and social moments and translate them into engaging digital video content

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to create and distribute videos that activate new audiences

  • Analyze performance metrics to recommend enhancements that improve engagement

  • Manage production timelines effectively to ensure projects are delivered on schedule

  • Stay current on latest trends, technology and best practices to support continuous improvement across ESPN platforms including YouTube

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in digital and social media with exposure to video production and content creation

  • Proficiency in nonlinear editing tools such as Premiere, Final Cut, Avid, Quantel, or After Effects

  • Strong working knowledge of current sports storylines including key teams, players, and cultural moments

  • Ability to track and interpret social media trends

  • Skilled in headline writing and content packaging with an understanding of effective distribution tactics

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and deliver accurate work in a fastpaced production environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with editing video content across multiple social media channels and platforms

  • Ability to create and optimize mobilefirst content

  • Proficiency working within digital content management systems to organize, publish, and maintain video assets efficiently

Education

  • Senior year preferred

  • Major or previous coursework Communications, Journalism, Sports Media or related major preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • This internship is a remote position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace

  • Availableto workdifferent shiftsincluding nights and weekends,for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
