Work Environment

This position is designed to operate in a remote capacity, allowing for flexibility while providing vital support to students who require mental health services. Our work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to meet the school’s operational demands. You may also participate in rotating weekend schedules and will be expected to be available for on-call emergencies to ensure that students receive timely support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, taking into consideration each student’s personal history, current concerns, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with students to develop individualized treatment plans that address their unique mental health challenges, facilitate emotional regulation, and promote successful reintegration within the school community.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to tackle various mental health issues.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions, while also conducting group therapy to foster a supportive communal environment that encourages student interaction and growth.
  • Coordinate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to develop comprehensive treatment strategies, guaranteeing a holistic approach to mental health care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention, applying de-escalation techniques and deciding when to refer students to higher levels of care in times of emergency.
  • Empower students and their families through psychoeducation, helping them to understand mental health conditions, navigate treatment options, and access additional community resources.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing staff development initiatives.
  • Stay informed about relevant legislative updates, regulations, and ethical practices related to mental health within educational environments.

Qualifications
