This individual works with attorneys to maintain the continuity, coordination, and execution of Atlanta-based business development, client engagement, and internal marketing efforts. The role will also support our other global offices as needed. This dedicated manager will independently manage timelines, push initiatives forward, and ensure accountability across stakeholders. This position is also directly familiar with the full array of services and resources the firm has to offer and supports the rapid development of opportunities and completion of related activities, thereby decreasing the firm’s sales cycle time, improving attorney use of non-billable time, and enhancing the visibility of the firm in the market.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the design and execution of several of the firm’s most important client events including large-scale signature client programs, General Counsel and In-House Dinners, Continuing Legal Education seminars, and regional leadership forums.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for some of the firm’s largest sponsorship investments including cultural events, sporting events, and business associations to maximize ROI through strategic client engagement.
  • Guide partners to build and maintain relationships with key clients and identify strategic targets for firm growth.
  • Manage the Atlanta office Marketing Budget, including annual planning, financial reporting, and ROI analysis.
  • Provide strategic marketing and business development support for practice teams on a fractional basis.
  • Serve as a coach in the Partner Coaching Program, advising partners on business development strategy and client relationship building.
  • Co-coordinate marketing and business development component of the Annual Partner and Counsel Meeting.
  • Co-develop and lead the firm’s Alumni Program to maintain relationships with former attorneys and staff and identify business development opportunities.
  • Assist with onboarding of lateral partners and other attorneys for business development support.
  • Assist with RFP responses.
  • Develop strategy related to rankings and recognition (Chambers, Best Lawyers, Legal 500, and similar publications) and submit nominations on an annual basis.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development with a law firm strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, pulling together the resources of the firm across service lines to support business development efforts, e.g. cross-selling, up-selling.
  • Detail-oriented planner with the ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with flexibility for shifting demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to gain in-depth working knowledge of legal industry and align Team's services, value propositions, and unique characteristics through continuous learning (i.e. reading, seminars, attorney interviews) to enhance ability to proactively add value to marketing efforts.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Office, CRM systems, document management systems, etc.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts at all levels and ability to react to difficult situations appropriately.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision.  The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off.  The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in-office workdays as well as remote workdays.  The annual pay range for this position in Atlanta only is $125,000 to $164,000.
