Job description

Pay: Salary + Commission.
The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a hungry and innovative Packaging Sales Representative to support our Halls, TN facility. As a Packaging Sales Representative, you will be responsible for day-to-day business development duties relating to developing sales in cores and non-core markets and building/retaining client relationships. Also, responsible for developing key business alliances to leverage for new business and assists sales team in business acquisition processes as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Identify new opportunities within established markets leveraging previous successes.
  • Leverage network for new contacts and opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing clientele.
  • Identify and qualify new viable markets (business channels).
  • Obtain knowledge and critical data in qualified markets; Identify target clients; Identify specific business opportunities; Develop relationships in qualified markets.
  • Call on accounts in groups. Work one section of territory each day.
  • Presentations/facility tours.
  • Strategize solutions; Price/Estimate projects.
  • Sell entire product line with a concentration on value-added products and services.
  • Close business and negotiate contracts.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets (set in initial review).
  • Make appropriate number of calls on prospects versus customers.
  • Stay aware of competition, competitive issues, products, and total market movement.
  • Maintain aged inventory 60 days+ in compliance with sales team objectives, accounts receivables in compliance with sales team objectives, and customer profiles.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars, and trade shows.
  • Fill out all necessary paperwork (RFQ/RFS, Customer Profile, Customer Complaints, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies and operate within the expense budget.
  • Necessary overnight travel as needed for customer meetings.
  • Able to travel up to 75%.
  • Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to drive.
  • Work with customer service reps for follow-up and smaller accounts.
  • Manage the completion and submission of credit applications for new accounts.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED plus related college courses.
  • Knowledge of sales process, packaging, assembly and/or fulfillment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Recent college grad in relevant degree/major or 3-5 years of professional experience in Sales and Business Development, with experience in packaging, assembly, fulfillment and/or retail distribution.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, and training and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, profits, proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution.
  • Demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.
  • Professional appearance to support his/her role as a managerial representative.
  • Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.
