Job description

Operate the LINAC equipment to deliver the prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to the patients. Assist in the use and fabrication of positioning or restraining devices, accomplishing patient set-ups, portal adjustments and interpreting prescriptions. Assist in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures. Perform CT clinical simulation procedures. Maintains close observation/supervision of patients in the treatment room. Works with physician and personnel to organize simulation schedule to insure no delays occur. Participate in the training of radiation therapy students. Responsible for capturing patient charges. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the treatment. Maintains and practices radiation safety using the ALARA principles.
Education/Certification:
Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiation Therapy or registry eligible. If eligible, must achieve registration within one year of hire.
Experience:
One year experience preferred.
