Overview

The Copywriter Intern supports the Marketing team by creating compelling, brand-aligned written product and website copy. The Copywriter Intern collaborates with Marketing, Ecommerce, Merchandising, and other departments to produce engaging content that reflects the Cavender's brand voice. This role reports to the Sr. Copywriter and Product Copywriter and offers the opportunity to build a professional portfolio while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities    
  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Assist in writing and editing copy for product pages, and customer-facing copy on Cavenders.com.
  • Proofread content for grammar, spelling, consistency, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with e-commerce and marketing team members to develop compelling product copy.
  • Research products, industry trends, competitors, and customer insights to strengthen messaging.
  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice across all customer and employee touchpoints.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and content initiatives.
  • Organize and manage multiple writing assignments while meeting deadlines.
  • Assist with content audits and updates to existing product descriptions.
  • Ensure all materials are accurate, on time, and aligned with marketing objectives.
  • Participate in meetings and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with strong grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and communication channels.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to translate ideas into engaging content.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and revising work based on direction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Passion for storytelling, branding, and creative writing.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous writing experience through coursework, internships, campus organizations, freelance work, or personal portfolio.
  • Familiarity with AP Style or other professional writing standards.
