Job description

Be a part of our Winter Internship Program running from October to December, where you will have the opportunity to apply knowledge gained through your college courses. Becoming an Investments Intern is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into our industry. Interns are placed into meaningful roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business. This internship is based in our Jersey City office. 

What You Will Do:

  • Support the calculation of cashflows, risk metrics, and other analytics for structured and other investment assets.
  • Assist in developing quantitative tools and models to evaluate new and existing investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Investment Managers and internal teams to support investment recommendations and portfolio strategies.
  • Participate in due diligence on potential asset acquisitions and assist in developing related asset strategies.
  • Support onboarding of new reinsurance deals and asset managers, including portfolio setup and data validation.
  • Provide operational support for portfolios, including reconciliations and transaction monitoring.
  • Assist in preparing compliance and performance reports to ensure adherence to investment guidelines.
  • Review and maintain data quality across investment systems, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Help prepare presentation materials summarizing investment performance, risk, and strategy for senior management.
  • Contribute to automated reporting processes that track portfolio positions, activity, risk, and compliance.
  • Help develop and enhance automated dashboards and data tools for investment analysis and reporting.

What You Will Have:

  • Rising senior pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, computer science or investments.
  • A willingness to work towards CFA designation is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience for master's candidates.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL is required.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.  
  • Familiarity with more sophisticated data science techniques (SQL, R, Python, MatLab) and experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Very strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas and processes.
  • Presence and credibility to present effectively to key senior management.
