JOB SUMMARY
:

Purpose of the internships is to allow students to gain firsthand experience and understanding of PR and its role in a major organization. Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day information distribution, media pitching to various media audiences, coverage tracking, media management, assisting with events, participating in brainstorms, etc. Will also have the opportunity to shadow major tactical and event planning and implementation for campaigns/events such as Halloween Horror Nights, media FAMs, new product launches and more.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop various PR materials, including media alerts, photo captions and more
  • Regularly update media contact lists
  • Monitor Media & PR inboxes (including answering media requests in a timely manner)
  • Participate in brainstorm sessions for PR tactics and pitches
  • Track media coverage and sentiment and provide summary reports to management, as needed
  • Assist with implementing tactics and event planning, including broadcast shoots, media FAMs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned / needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Preferred majors include: Public Relations, communications, or related
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills (comfortable with communicating with others in person, by phone and by email
  • Team player with a "go-getter" attitude
  • Passionate and interested in learning about Public Relations

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
