Job Description :

Havas Red, a global public relations agency, is seeking a PR Assistant in their Pittsburgh office.
The PR Assistant program is designed for those new to PR. PR Assistants support account teams on various client projects while also building relationships with media and influencers to ensure brand|client coverage.
The program is a full-time, 4-month-long position with the opportunity for extension and advancement within the company.
Monday-Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.
$20.00 per hour and overtime eligible

Media | Influencer Relations

  • Secures unique placements using media outreach (phone and email pitching), to include5-10unique placements a month in Tier 3 or higher outlets
  • Provides social media/competitive intel report andcontributestocreativeideation/newpitch conceptsthat can be shared with clients
  • Monitors trend/industry news for client coveragefor account team review; mayassistwith compiling trend and industry research into client-facing email or agenda updates
  • Supportsweeklycoverageupload and reporting within agency's dashboard
  • Researches and buildsmedia andinfluencer lists
  • Assistsaccount team with researchingclient speaking opportunities, industry awards, and competitor analysis

Account Management

  • May sitinonconference calls(target1- 2callsper month for each client)
  • Participates inbrainstorms
  • Assiststhe team in trackingmedia hits, influencer engagement metrics,and updatesinmonthly and quarterlyactivity reports
  • Executesvarious client program components
  • Supports account team withclient eventlogisticsand daily tasks involved
  • Assistswith press kits and media mailers, sample requests, and inventory tracking
  • Providesresearch support for account team

Writing | Editing

  • Draftsclient-ready emails for manager review,pressmaterials, creative pitches,helpscontribute tosections ofevent/launch strategy docs, and other client communications

Agency Contributions

  • Participates in agency's development programs
  • Contributes positively to the culture, atmosphere and values and exudes a positive outlook on his/her team
  • Establishes professional andrespectfulemployee relationships withindivision and agency
  • Monitors and records time in agency's system

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree (communications, liberal arts, business or marketing focus preferred)

Skills & Abilities Required Strong writing (AP style), editing, listening and verbal communications skills. Resourceful and solutions focused. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing and organizing. Excellent attention to detail. Self-motivated and able to work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually. Effectively manages time, follows up, and is results driven. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and use|development of media databases.
