The National Security Agency (NSA), America's premier cryptologic organization, is seeking experienced, doctoral-level Clinical Psychologists adept at working flexibly within a dynamic work environment. Successful candidates will provide support across three main areas: direct clinical care, workplace consultation, and psychoeducational training.The selected Clinical Psychologist will provide psychological treatment for affiliates (both civilians and military) working some of our nation's most critical missions and their spouses. This individual will provide brief, solution-focused mental health treatment (including intake assessment and ongoing documentation) for individuals, couples, and groups. On-call and emergency response duties are required to on a periodic basis in support of NSA's commitment to support employees in crisis.The selected individual will also provide multi-tiered workplace consultation to leaders within NSA via both ad hoc and embedded (ongoing) frameworks. Workplace consultations may focus on identifying and mitigating individual and organizational issues; assisting leaders as they address sensitive interpersonal issues; consultation and training for operational personnel; and promoting a positive, productive workplace culture.Development and delivery of psychoeducational trainings, sharing of case presentations, and participation in the peer review process are also included in the scope of work. Psychoeducational trainings may focus on any range of mental health issues, including (but not limited to) stress management, sleep hygiene, suicide awareness and prevention, and anxiety reduction.

The mission of Behavioral Health and Life Services (BHLS) is to provide premier whole-person consultation, treatment services, education, and resources to the NSA workforce worldwide, including individuals, organizations, and family members. BHLS is committed to supporting well-being holistically, recognizing that healthy employees are better poised to support the primary focus on NSA: keeping our nation safe.Within BHLS, clinical staff provide prevention, treatment, and emergency response services in support of mental well-being. Personnel also provide technical, managerial, and administrative services across the entire workforce. Assessing, promoting, and optimizing the health and safety of the NSA workforce and workplace is always priority.

The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position.Degree must be in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field in psychology. A valid license to practice psychology in any state or territory is also required.Relevant experience must include one or more of the following: providing direct client care, consultation, or teaching (internships count toward this requirement). Expert level: Experience must also include leading people, programs, or projects.SENIOREntry is with a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.EXPERTEntry is with a Doctoral degree plus 12 years of relevant experience.

The selected candidate must have a PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program. Successful completion of an APA-accredited clinical internship is preferred. A current and valid license to practice psychology in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. Territory with no pending adverse actions (e.g. suspensions, restrictions, or revocations) is required. At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience is required, which may include post-doctorate internship.The ideal candidate will possess a knowledge of the principles, theories and accepted practices within Clinical Psychology as they relate to (a) identifying, preventing, and remediating individual and organizational adjustment difficulties; (b) optimizing work/life balance for individuals and within organizational structures; (c) providing psychological consultation and training to operational managers and personnel; (d) providing referrals, advice, and/or consultation regarding community-based mental health resources; (e) applying emergency and crisis management procedures (e.g., crisis interventions); and (f) detecting and attending to the behavior of others, including verbal and non-verbal cues that may indicate a potential security issue or concern. Experience working with any of the following populations is preferred, but not required: Intelligence Community, Department of War (military or civilian), forensic practice, or law enforcement agencies.There are currently opportunities in both NSA-Georgia (Augusta, GA) and NSA-Hawaii.

Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.Salary Range: $125,776 - $197,200 (Senior, Expert)Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position.Training will be provided based on the selectee's needs and experience.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).

DCIPS Trial Period:If selected for this position, you will be required to serve a two-year DCIPS trial period, unless you are a veterans' preference-eligible employee, in which case you are required to serve a one-year trial period. This trial period runs concurrently with your commitment to the position, if applicable. Before finalizing your appointment at the conclusion of your trial period, NSA will determine whether your continued employment advances the public interest. This decision will be based on factors such as your performance and conduct; the Agency's needs and interests; whether your continued employment would advance the Agency's organizational goals; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.Upon completion of your trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. If you do not receive certification for continued employment, you should receive written notice prior to the end of your trial period that your employment will be terminated and the effective date of such termination.
