You will be part of a top-performing project team and report to an experienced Project Manager. This highly visible position regularly interacts with project managers, clients, craft supervisors, and company operations leaders. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to take ownership of key project responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Engineer, you will:

  • Coordinate field purchasing, rental equipment, small tools, consumables, and project equipment logs.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, logs, time sheets, and other records required for successful project execution.
  • Support project financial activities, including budget forecasting, invoice preparation, cash flow tracking, and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Develop an understanding of project contracts, commercial terms and conditions, craft labor agreements, contract strategies, and risk management principles.
  • Participate in project and Construction Operations Meetings, collaborating with field supervision, clients, vendors, and internal departments to resolve issues and keep work moving.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships that support BMWC's Customers for Life philosophy.
  • Perform regular safety audits, participate in daily safety planning, and support BMWC's commitment to Zero Injury Performance.
  • Participate in quality initiatives and identify opportunities to improve project operations, processes, and procedures.
  • Support business development and project pursuits that align with the company's Marketing Plan.
  • Communicate observed violations of company policy, Guiding Principles, Core Values, or applicable laws through the appropriate channels, and perform other responsibilities assigned by leadership.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Construction internship, project engineering, or industrial construction experience is preferred. Recent graduates with relevant internship experience and experienced construction professionals are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, field personnel, and company leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management, scheduling, estimating, or CAD software is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a field-based environment and travel or relocate to project locations as needed.

BENEFITS

  • Competitive pay with bonuses
  • PTO and paid holidays
