Project Manager
The Organization
Our client is an industry leader in Traffic Signal Construction and Maintenance as well as Intelligent Traffic Systems. The organization is a strong and stable company that has been in business for 36 years with over 450 employees. The company provides maintenance services for the majority of governmental agencies in the Denver metro area. The Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the support of functions related to construction management in the Electrical, Our client, and Roadway lighting construction industry. The PM assists with the preparation of work plans and applicable specifications, and interfaces with and provides general project support to project management professionals to ensure project success.
Core Responsibilities
  • Safety Compliance: Develop knowledge of all OSHA and company safety requirements in roadway construction operations.
  • Incident Reporting: Ensure compliance with safety requirements including immediate reporting of unsafe conditions and actions.
  • Drawing Review: Daily use of and interpretation of civil construction drawings.
  • Plan Review: Review construction plans and documents including spec docs, SOW, GDOT Road and Bridge Construction Specs.
  • Contract Review: Read contract documents and be familiar with all content related to the scope of work.
  • As-Builts: Develop as-builts documentation as required.
  • Quantity Takeoff: Project review and quantity take off for cost projections.
  • Job Logs: Collect daily job logs and input quantities on billing spreadsheet for review by PM.
  • Subcontractor Tracking: Track subcontractors, review work complete, invoices, and pay application payouts.
  • Meeting Attendance: Attend weekly project and operations meetings.
  • RFI Management: Create RFIs and update tracking log.
  • Progress Tracking: Track work in the field and update scheduling for timing and accuracy.
  • Labor Review: Perform weekly review of labor cost and time entry in PM absence.
  • Procurement Support: Assist in procurement, review, and tracking of material from vendors.
  • Subcontractor Communication: Communicate with and track work of subcontractors weekly.
  • Reporting: Prepare submittals, RFIs, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting of same.
  • ERP Data Entry: Input and manage data in Spectrum ERP daily.
  • Quality Procedures: Assist in development of quality procedures and tracking for various projects.
  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
  • Blueprint Reading: Must be able to read blueprints and civil construction drawings.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient working with various software programs such as Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel or the willingness and ability to become proficient using these tools.
  • Communication: Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to deal with conflict in a constructive manner.
  • Organization: Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience, including internship, in the construction process of commercial electrical operations or roadway construction.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Work Conditions
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting from 5 to 50 lbs.
  • Heavy Lifting: Occasional lifting from 51 lbs.
