About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to support the project accounting lifecycle. Specifically, this role will be responsible for performing recurring accounting procedures, supporting engineering project managers with maintaining project data within the systems-of-record (e.g., NetSuite), as well as applying overtime revenue recognition methodologies to meet US GAAP and reporting objectives.


The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of using data/reports from ERP systems to provide finance insights and support accounting conclusions (i.e., revenue calculations). As Project Accounting at ANS is inherently reliant on this source data, the ideal candidate will understand data integrity risks and be prepared to assist with developing best practices, providing coaching, and performing internal controls-each in coordination with the broader accounting team.
We welcome candidates with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience who are eager to grow in a supportive environment. Flexibility: from a growth perspective, over time this role would be able to either expand to own broader revenue recognition matters impacting the company or gain experience with other operational and corporate accounting areas of interest.

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with project accounting leadership to perform recurring accounting procedures, in connection with month-end-close and as part of the day-to-day
  • Review the data underlying revenue calculations to ensure accurate and updated timely (e.g., contract value/sales order amounts, cost budgets, actual costs applied, labor hours)
  • Perform monthly revenue recognition calculations utilizing percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies
  • Analyze work-in-progress schedules and investigate/resolve project variances, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, and data validation errors
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies
  • Assist with external audit requests and provide supporting documentation for project accounting audit areas
  • Develop and enhance project accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting capabilities within NetSuite as ANS continues its process maturity journey
  • Provide leadership and coaching of junior team members and interns
Must-Haves:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Specialized higher education with an accounting focus
  • CPA, CPA in-process, or other relevant licensure
  • Experience with NetSuite, Pipedrive, Monday.com
