Job description

Description of Position ***First Review date: April 20th, 2026*** Reporting to the Division Dean, the incumbent will teach discipline-specific courses as needed using a variety of methodologies. Responsibilities will include course preparation and instruction; program and class recruitment; curriculum development; participation in the on-campus college community and continued professional growth activities; and creative program building based on needs assessment and in collaboration with other faculty. Incumbent may be asked to teach other courses in disciplines in which she/he is able to be credentialed.

The Faculty Program Director will: Serve as the primary instructor for 30 credits per academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer), in addition to fulfilling program director responsibilities Be the face of the program and first point of contact for Management and Accounting Program offerings as assigned Conduct proactive student outreach to build relationships, support student success, and maintain visibility across Management and Accounting Program offerings as assigned Serve on faculty committees Stay current on academic and professional changes in the discipline areas through professional growth Attend and represent YC and the program at external meetings when required Participate in the Retail Management Certificate statewide consortium, and manage and grow the program completer numbers Represent Yavapai College Management and Accounting Program offerings in Arizona transfer and articulation meetings Work with the Division Dean, Business Department Chair, other Business Faculty Program Directors, Lead Faculty and Scheduling Department to schedule, monitor, adjust, and staff program courses Build and maintain courses as needed (including syllabus, Canvas shell and content) Co-lead the School of Business program advisory committee with the Department Chair and other Business Faculty Program Directors Initiate and complete curriculum changes to align with the evolving academic and industry landscape Grow enrollment in all Management and Accounting program offerings by using a variety of targeted marketing and outreach efforts Collaborate with the Division Dean, Business Department Chair and other Business Faculty Program Directors and Lead Faculty to recruit, hire, credential, train, observe, lead, coach, and support adjunct faculty Coordinate and complete related Program Reviews Oversee internship opportunities in Management and Accounting available for students Coordinate with the workforce team to create relevant community business partnerships and training opportunities Identify opportunities for customized training by engaging with community organizations and proactively promoting Management and Accounting program offerings that align with workforce needs Serve as the Management and Accounting programs' dual enrollment liaison, ensuring alignment between dual enrollment instruction and related program courses for assessment, program review, and adherence to institutional policies and expectations. Other duties as assigned The successful faculty member recognizes that service to our students is our highest priority, and embraces their role in student success, recruitment, retention, and persistence. This includes being open to a variety of delivery methods and course design with the possibility of interactive, online, day, evening, weekend classes and/or teaching at various College locations and/or in the high school/college dual enrollment programs.

In addition, faculty should be open to the standard 8-week classes (five terms per academic year) in this program. Faculty can expect to participate in innovative forms of assessment and should be willing to utilize Open Educational Resources (OER). The expectation is that full-time faculty serve as provisional faculty for a period of three years prior to being reviewed for continuing status.

The determination of faculty status is, however, ultimately at the discretion of the College President as the Yavapai College District Governing Board's designee. The cover letter must include: Describe your philosophy of teaching in a community college including the faculty role in student retention and persistence Share your philosophy of the online approach to delivering instruction Description of your experience related to program development Previous experience using Open Educational Resource (OER) materials Previous experience teaching with various technologies, 8-week terms, and any other expertise you wish to highlight from the Preferred Skills & Abilities list below: Minimum Expectations & Requirements Master's degree or higher degree in Management, Accounting or related field of study; OR Master's degree plus 18 graduate credit hours in Management, Accounting or related field of study Knowledgeable in current composition theory and practice- Experience with instruction for different populations (developmental, multicultural, applied learning) Preferred Skills & Abilities Doctorate in Business, Management, or related field of study Experience in curriculum design, development, and assessment Proficiency with Canvas and online teaching methodologies Experience designing and delivering Open Educational Resources (OER) courses Teaching experience in a community college or adult learning environment Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations Experience using multimedia technologies to enhance student engagement and learning Program development experience, including outreach and marketing Experience with student recruitment and facilitating advisory committees Experience in recruiting, coordinating, mentoring, and evaluating adjunct faculty Proven ability to build and maintain strong community and industry partnerships Ability to teach other courses as needed Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
