Job description

Baseball Operations & Player Development Coach (Assistant Coach - Part Time/ Stipend)
The Opportunity:
West Liberty University Baseball is seeking a highly motivated assistant coach to support player development and recruitment within a competitive NCAA Division II Program. This position is designed for an aspiring collegiate coach seeking hands-on experience, mentorship, and a clear pathway to career advancement.
Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Mentorship from an experienced head coach with a commitment to professional development.
  • Hands on responsibility and autonomy within the program
  • Fall (non-championship) commitment: approximately 40 hours per week
  • Spring (championship) commitment: approximately 40+ hours per week
  • Summer (recruitment) commitment: approximately 30 hours per week
  • Primary responsibilities:
    • Assist with player development and game strategy
    • Coordinate scouting reports and opponent analysis
    • Assist with recruiting efforts, including evaluation and communication
    • Monitor and support the academic progress of student athletes
    • Assist with practice planning and daily team operations
    • Assist with strength & conditioning sessions under the direction of the head coach and/or certified staff
  • Opportunity to build a strong resume through meaningful on-field and recruiting responsibilities.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • At least a year of coaching experience in baseball in high school, junior college, or college. Collegiate coaching is preferred.
