Job description

The 3D Art Intern will support our creative team by contributing to the 3D production pipeline across modeling, compositing, and archiving workflows. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop real-world production skills alongside experienced artists in a fast-paced, design-forward environment. 

This position is expected to start in September 2026 and continue through the entire Fall 2026 term (through December 2026). Our internships are a minimum of 12 weeks, part-time and on-site.     

In This Role 

  • Support the 3D production pipeline by assisting with compositing swap-in products 
  • Create low-poly models optimized from high-poly source assets 
  • Review Revit files to assist in verifying model accuracy 
  • Archive models from 3DS Max for our External Sharing Library 
  • Participate in lighting and compositing training with a focus on learning DaVinci Resolve 
  • Assist with material and texture application, ensuring finishes accurately represent physical product specifications
  • Support the team in preparing and organizing scene files for rendering, including camera setup and asset placement
  • Assist with quality review of rendered images, flagging inconsistencies in scale, proportion, lighting, or finish accuracy
  • Collaborate with senior artists and project leads to meet production deadlines and maintain pipeline standards
  • Contribute to the organization and maintenance of digital asset libraries, ensuring files are properly named, versioned, and stored
  • Gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a CGI product image, from raw 3D asset to final deliverable used in marketing and sales channels

The Ideal Person 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in 3D Art, Animation, Visualization, or a related field 
  • Strong working knowledge of a 3D application, including basic modeling, geometry retopology and optimization, material adjustments, UV unwrapping and editing, and artifact correction 
  • Familiarity with 3DS Max, V-Ray, and Revit is a plus 
  • Understanding of fundamental lighting principles 
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for scale, proportion, and material accuracy - especially as it relates to physical product representation
  • Able to take direction, incorporate feedback, and iterate quickly within a production environment
  • Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while staying communicative with the broader team
  • A digital portfolio of 3D work is required
